English

´The world is your oyster´ and if you have decided to teach English at a public high school, the wisest choice is to come to Campus Educación to start your training with us.

  • TRAINER

I have got a Degree in English Studies and a PhD Theory Course in Lexicology and Functional Grammar. At present, I am teaching at IES Maestro Juan Rubio in La Roda. However, I have my post at Motilla del Palancar high school, in the province of Cuenca. I have been involved in English Language Teaching since 1997, private tuition and university lectures. After that, I started working in the public sector in 2005. Finally, I was called to be an Examining Board member in 2015.

We know that all that kind of experience is paramount, but we also offer the following things to make your training be second to none.

  • Elaborate quality set of Units (sent via email topic by topic in PDF)
  • Practice exam exercises and mock examinations from previous calls
  • Didactic Programmes
  • Didactic Units (or Teaching Modules, according to the new trends)
  • Online resources
  • Conferences carried out by experts (mainly education welfare officers)
  • Individualised marking of topics
  • Constant contact through email and campuseducacion.com
  • Professional integrity
  • Compromise and reliability
  • Current information on latest legislative changes

  • SCHEDULE

The training consists of 3 parts, 2 written exams and 1 oral defence and exposition. Bearing in mind the eliminating nature of the written part, candidates have to obtain a pass average mark (at least 5 marks) in both the practical and the topic exam so as to be admitted to the next stage of the selection procedure:

  • First Part

    • Part A: Practical exam based on Reading Comprehension and other exercises connected with different linguistic levels such as lexicon, phonetics and use of English. This Part takes 2 hours and 50% of the mark was multiplied by 0.5 in 2018 Entrance Examination. Candidates had to get, at least, 2.5 marks in each part to be entitled to an average score.

    • Part B: Topic development or written exposition of a topic out of 5 themes. There is a draw carried out by Tribunal 1, which is the one in charge of all the public examination process in each speciality. This Part also takes 2 hours. 50% of the mark was multiplied by 0.5, though it may vary in future calls. As well as in Part A, candidates had to get, at least, 2.5 marks in each part to be entitled to an average score.

  • Second Part:
    • A) Didactic Programme defence  (30 minutes)

    • B) Development and defence of a Didactic Unit  (30 minutes)

During the development of the candidate’s defence, the Tribunal might set out some questions in relation to the content of the Programme or the Didactic Unit. This part of the exam is marked between 0 and 10 and getting at least 5 marks is compulsory so as to be able to pass the Public Examination Process. Once we have come this far, the so-called CONTEST comes in. Just take a look at this:

  • Contest Assessment Scale: Previous Experience (5) + Academic background (5) + professional training courses (2). Total: 12 points. So your final mark will be obtained from the formula below:

Public Exams 60 %  + Contest 40 %  = Final Mark

  • PLANNING

A really important thing to take into account when sitting for these exams is time control. We have to learn how to cope with this crucial aspect. For that reason, we are going to take written mock exams and practice our oral defence in the didactic-pedagogical part.

Lessons are to be held on Friday from 4.30 pm to 8.30 pm and the planning will be the one described in the boxes below:
